Software Development Manager, Robotic Movement team

Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Software Development Manager within our Robotic Movement team. You will lead a team designing and building services and features that enable the Amazon Fulfillment robotic solution, delivering reliable and high-performance services at Amazon scale.

About the role

As a Software Development Manager at Amazon Robotics, you will interact with customers, understand business goals, collaborate with other leaders, and innovate rapidly to deliver high-quality, high-value functionality. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, think about business opportunities, operational implications, and service architecture evolution in real time.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to design and implement scalable solutions that meet customer needs.
• Engage with customers to understand requirements and deliver results quickly.
• Mentor and manage a team of engineers to execute your technical vision.
• Collaborate with product and program management teams to define software features and strategy.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, testing, certification, and live-site operations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• 3+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for the software development lifecycle.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++.
• 1+ years of experience with service-oriented architecture and distributed programming.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software features and strategy.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and coaching software engineers.
• 3+ years of leading development of applications backed by AWS or other cloud-based technologies.
• Experience managing high-caliber software engineers developing complex, world-class, scalable systems.

Pay

Base salary range: $184,900 - $250,200 USD annually (USA, MA, North Reading). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
