Software Development Manager, AWS Vulnerability Management - Assessment and Response Automation

About the role

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of innovative solutions for AWS's security needs, focusing on enhancing the security of services offered by AWS. They will work closely with various teams to ensure they have the necessary tools and data to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build a best-in-class engineering team that delivers excellent results through rapid iterations
• Design and develop state-of-the-art approaches to solving complex and ambiguous problems
• Cultivate engineering and operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning
• Develop long-term strategy for your programs and translate it into roadmap and action plan
• Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management
• Mentor and grow high-performing SDEs and security engineers to take on increasingly higher responsibilities

Requirements

• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Qualifications

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
• 2+ years of leading development of applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud-based technologies and services experience
• 2+ years of Managing IT security engineering teams in security detections and response, vulnerability management, application security, or related discipline.
