McKesson High Volume Solutions Inc. is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Software Development Intern to join our team for Summer 2027. Intern Program Details

  • Paid Internship
  • Full time / 10 weeks
  • Position will be based out of our Irving, TX location
  • The internship program provides networking, access to executives, structured performance & coaching
  • Experiential learning and training provided by exposure to subject matter experts

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior developers and product managers to understand project requirements and contribute to technical design discussions
  • Write, test, and debug clean, efficient, and well-documented code in various programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python)
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of software applications, features, and tools
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and learning from peers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation
  • Learn and apply new technologies, development methodologies, and best practices
  • Engage in team meetings, stand-ups, and other collaborative activities

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Expected graduation date of Fall 2027, Spring 2028, Fall 2028 or Spring 2029
  • Solid understanding of fundamental computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., C#, Java, Python)
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Skills

  • Prior internship experience or personal projects demonstrating software development aptitude is a plus

Pay

$17.33 - $28.88
