Software Development Engineer, Region Reliability

About the role

The Region Reliability Tooling (RRT) team is a development team within AWS Utility Computing (UC) under US Region Services. The team builds and maintains tooling and automation that enables Region Reliability Operations to scale across US Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) regions, supporting top ADC priorities, contractual commitments, and operational excellence. This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and the ability to obtain commensurate clearances for each government agency where AWS work is performed.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable solutions to address complex challenges and enhance the performance of ADC regions or tooling gaps
• Participate in the full project lifecycle, from idealization and scoping to implementation and deployment
• Code in various languages to improve existing tools or develop new tooling or automation
• Communicate development project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders fostering transparency

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Pay

USA, CO, Denver - $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually
