Software Development Engineer - Operations Improvement
About the role
Micron Idaho Semiconductor Manufacturing (Triton) LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing processes and production operations within a Fab environment. This role involves automation, analytics, and the use of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS), and scheduling platforms.
Responsibilities
- Complete safety training and adhere to Micron and TD safety policies.
- Report safety-related concerns immediately and participate in audits and good catch reporting.
- Provide data analysis, advanced production reports, and develop applications to improve production metrics.
- Lead interdepartmental meetings and mentor others.
- Drive improvement solutions that meet customer needs.
- Optimize tool-to-tool delivery times and provide on-time delivery.
- Deliver pre/post metrics for OI enhancements/changes.
- Follow the OI testing cycle (DEV/BETA/PROD) for new software releases.
- Apply industrial engineering concepts to line management, scheduling, and production planning.
- Use analytical tools/data to drive decisions.
- Identify and implement optimization opportunities for the fab.
- Automate Fab processes to reduce variability and eliminate waste.
- Develop, maintain, and improve scheduling and business rules.
- Participate in or lead global alignment meetings.
- Support 24/7 OI systems when on call.
- Design and coordinate projects with several different departments.
- Identify, innovate, and lead improvement efforts or special projects related to cycle time reduction, continuous improvement projects, and worldwide projects.
- Understand and utilize area technical language.
- Create and deliver effective presentations.
- Partner with Operations Development Engineering (ODE) teams to address OI cases.
- Leverage and share global OI best-known methods (BKM’s).
- Optimize tool-to-tool delivery times and provide on-time delivery.

Requirements
Employer Will Accept a Master's Degree In Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Or Related Field.
Position Requires Manufacturing Science, including scheduling, inventory management, and capacity planning; Database management methods and techniques: SQL, Snowflake, or MongoDB; Scripting, programming and visualization tools: Python, Java, Tableau, Matlab, Visual studio, or C#; Proficiency in GIT processes, including Bitbucket and Azure DevOps; and Application of data visualization, data collection, data analytics warehousing systems, and data cleansing.

Skills
Knowledge of automated material handling systems (AMHS), manufacturing execution systems (MES), and scheduling platforms.
Experience with data visualization, data collection, data analytics warehousing systems, and data cleansing.
Proficiency in Git processes, including Bitbucket and Azure DevOps.
Understanding of industrial engineering concepts, including line management, scheduling, and production planning.
Ability to apply analytical tools and data to drive decisions.
