Software Development Engineer, Leo Payload
Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
About the role
In this role, you will drive the design, development, and operation of key functions such as Mode Management, telemetry, power control, and autonomous capabilities for each satellite throughout its lifetime—from launch to de-orbit. You will own unique software functions through design, implementation (in C, C++, RUST, or other AWS technologies), test, and integration in a production environment. You will also work closely with hardware teams for setup, verification, integration, and testing on the Satellite Communication Systems Payload. This is a standard Software Development Engineer (SDE) position; embedded experience is not required.
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
