Software Development Engineer II, iOS, Zappos Discovery Tech - Mobile

About the role

Zappos Tech is seeking a Software Development Engineer II (SDE2) to join the iOS Mobile team at Zappos. This role involves developing and maintaining native iOS apps, working closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineers, and providing guidance to the team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain: Play a key role in the development and maintenance of native iOS apps using XCode, Swift, SwiftUI, Objective-C, UIKit, CloudKit, Core Data, and Core Animation.
• Collaborate for Success: Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to create optimal customer experiences and steer technology choices.
• Coach and Guide: Provide guidance and feedback to help maintain high coding standards and practices.
• Solve Problems: Address complex issues within a well-understood technology strategy, balancing business needs with technical solutions to ensure scalability and future growth.
• Uphold Best Practices: Contribute to efficient problem-solving while adhering to and promoting best practices within the team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 3+ years of Apple platform development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency
