Key job responsibilities

  • Design and develop highly available, scalable distributed systems

A day in the life

You'll start your day collaborating with team members on a new algorithm to optimize package routing across international borders. After lunch, you'll dive into coding, implementing improvements to the distributed system that tracks millions of shipments in real-time. You might attend a weekly learning session to stay updated on industry trends or participate in a mentoring program. Your day could end with a brainstorming session for the upcoming hackathon or joining colleagues for a friendly board game night.

We're looking for candidates with

  • Strong understanding of database theory and experience with relational or non-relational data stores
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Obsession with quality and customer experience
  • Ability to think abstractly while maintaining attention to detail
  • Passion for architecting and developing large-scale distributed technology solutions

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Technology, Science, Operations Research, Robotics, Mathematics or related fields, or a Doctorate/PhD or equivalent and experience working for Amazon or any Amazon subsidiary or affiliate

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.

  • USA, WA, Bellevue - $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually
