Software Development Engineer, AWS Marketplace
About the role
AWS Marketplace aims to change the way enterprise software is bought and sold, enabling software sellers to reach all customers and enabling buyers to easily discover, purchase, and consume software. Our goals include enriching the platform to support more diverse selection, improving buyer and seller experience, and implementing new ideas to add new dimensions to the product. Our vision is to make Marketplace the one-stop shop for buying and selling software just like Amazon.com is for retail. We are one of the fastest-growing teams in AWS, interfacing with a diverse internal and external community of software service sellers over a wide variety of technologies, with a rapidly growing audience of buyers from different market segments. AWS Marketplace manages state-of-the-art complex infrastructure to provide a smooth experience for sellers and buyers to purchase various software and services for domains like infrastructure software, machine learning, and IoT.
Key job responsibilities
- Own significant portions of the product and have significant influence on our strategy by helping define the next wave of product features and system architecture
- Work at all levels from front-end user experience to robust platform services to system-level pieces
- Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and identify areas for improvement
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and implement new features
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide technical expertise and insights
- Identify and fix bugs and ensure high-quality software releases
- Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients to gather requirements and provide project updates
Basic qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Preferred qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Pay
Base salary range: $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually (USA, WA, Seattle). Your package will also include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
