Software Development Engineer, Amazon Leo Network Services

About the role

The CT Overlay team builds the services that bring Kuiper's customer terminal antennas to life. We own device identity, configuration management, firmware delivery, fleet orchestration, and location services — the software layer that sits between the physical hardware and the network. Our systems operate at constellation scale, managing tens of thousands of terminals across multiple regions with strict security and availability requirements.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and dashboards for monitoring health of systems and data pipelines.
• Work with multiple cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate the infrastructure you build.
• Develop and mentor junior and new team members.
• Engineer and build a cloud service that is reliable and available to provide connectivity for our customers.
• Work on features that enhance the quality of service and security for our customers.
• Collaborate and work on initiatives across multiple teams to build networking functions on AWS cloud infrastructure and set best practices for software development processes.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
