Software Developer (WSCE)-Junior
About the role
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Developer (WSCE)-Junior to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $87,100.00 - $115,800.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.
Responsibilities
- Develops software for an advanced synthetic training environment
- Integrates software into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats
- Supports software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations
- Demonstrates a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns and object-oriented software design
- Works within existing DevOps environment (automated builds, testing, deployment of software on multiple OS platforms, etc.)
- Evaluates and reviews C and C++ language code
- Programs using C and C++ language code
- Develops software requiring parallel processing, threading and inter-process communication
- Develops software to simulate complex environments or platforms in real-time
- Collaborates with team members to design future enhancements
- Integrates complex third-party software models of weapons into a common product used for fleet training and test
Requirements
Must-haves:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering: Degrees in Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering may qualify
- Experience with software development using C/C++, CMake and/or scripting languages (Bash, Python 3 or similar platforms)
- Familiarity with scaled agile software development tools and environments (Git, Jira or similar platforms)
- Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered)
Qualifications
Desired Skills:
- Experience working in a cross-platform development environment (Windows, Linux or similar platforms)
- Experience with modeling and simulation
- Experience with military weapons systems or military air platforms
- Experience in the military test or training
- Experience with networking in C++

Physical Environment And Working Conditions
The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc. The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
