Responsibilities
- Pursue strong engineering practices through a culture of continuous improvement.
- Share in the vision of the product and drive the team toward that vision.
- Estimate, coordinate, and direct testing for multiple products/projects.
- Perform software quality assurance on highly complex and/or multiple projects through manual and automated testing using industry-standard tools and agile methodologies.
- Contribute to product development by addressing minor bug fixes and handling production support requests.
- Pair with full-stack developers during active development to ensure Schwab coding standards and best practices are followed.
- Stay abreast of user feedback by attending and reviewing UX Research sessions.
- Develop with the user in mind, understanding the key business indicators (KBI) targeted with each ticket.
- Follow agile principles and focus on incremental delivery.
- Actively participate in discovery and experimentation sessions, collaborating closely with engineers and product team members to discover robust solutions.
- Be at the forefront of evolving work practices across teams by incorporating design thinking, a multi-channel approach, and end-to-end collaboration.
- Implement test practices, standards, and processes; troubleshoot test issues; record test results; track and prioritize defects; and participate in product readiness and release decisions.
- Establish fact-based measures of test efficiency, effectiveness, and product readiness.
- Take part in application deployment to production and ensure successful deployment.
- Be accountable for test environment stability and test data manifestation in various non-production regions.
Requirements
- A passion for digital innovation and a commitment to superb client experience.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with an information technology focus, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with unit testing patterns (TDD/BDD) and methodologies.
- Effective relationship-building skills—ability to partner cross-functionally and work effectively with various levels of the organization and personality types.
Skills
- Mastery of one or more test automation tools/frameworks:
- Test Libraries: Protractor, Selenium, or WebDriver.io
- Test Framework: Ruby, Cucumber, Specflow, TestNG, NUnit, or XUnit
- At least 2 years of hands-on knowledge in test automation using Selenium, WebDriver.IO, or Protractor with the Cucumber framework.
- Strong programming skills in one or more object-oriented programming languages like C#, Java, or C++.
- Familiarity with web application development using frameworks like MVC, Angular, etc.
- Experience with REST API development and test development for REST.
- Experience with Agile and being part of a scrum team.
- Understanding of patterns and practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot environmental issues.
- Ability to conceptualize the best tactical approach for a team to deliver a project.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to solve frontend/backend issues and independently provide creative solutions.
- CI/CD experience with Bamboo.
