About the role

The United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) is seeking a Software Developer II – Full Stack to join our technology team and help develop, enhance, and support the digital systems that serve our organization and the hunter/jumper community. This is an opportunity for a mid-level developer who enjoys both building new solutions and improving existing systems. You’ll work across the full technology stack, collaborate with organizational stakeholders, and contribute to applications and integrations that improve internal operations and the member experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance full-stack applications using React.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Sequelize
  • Build responsive, reusable, and accessible front-end components
  • Develop and maintain back-end services, business logic, and RESTful APIs
  • Support existing applications using C#, .NET Core, Microsoft SQL Server, and Entity Framework
  • Troubleshoot issues across front-end, back-end, database, and integration layers
  • Support application upgrades, migrations, deployments, and production systems
  • Contribute to applications hosted in AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • Work with Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Docker
  • Develop and maintain integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms
  • Participate in testing, peer code reviews, technical documentation, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to deliver reliable technology solutions

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical capability, curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • A four-year college degree and 3–5+ years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional experience with most of USHJA’s primary technology stack
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to organize priorities, take initiative, and manage multiple responsibilities
  • A detail-oriented approach balanced with adaptability and creativity
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of people
  • A self-directed, mission-focused approach to your work
  • Knowledge of the hunter/jumper competition environment is helpful, but not required
