Software Developer

DS2 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support Department of Defense, federal, and commercial clients by designing, developing, deploying, and demonstrating feature-rich software applications. This role participates in the full software development lifecycle and contributes to research initiatives through proof-of-concepts and prototype development.

About the role

The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer who actively develops in modern programming languages, collaborates effectively with engineering teams and clients, and stays current with emerging technologies. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and able to successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and demonstrate software applications
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle
• Contribute to research initiatives through proof-of-concepts and prototype development

Requirements

• Active experience programming in one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
• Ability to complete a U.S. government background investigation
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline
• Minimum 6 years of professional software development experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing backend applications
• API implementation experience
• Relational and/or NoSQL database experience
• Mission planning application development experience
• DoD environment experience
• Experience with AI-assisted software development workflows
• Relevant technical certifications (Scrum, Microsoft, Google, etc.)

Pay

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
