Software Dev Engineer IV
Role Overview
This role involves the design, development, implementation, and testing of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, and systems. The engineer will assist in translating business requirements into technical specifications for robust and scalable solutions. The position requires taking ownership of system components and serving as a technical lead on complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, test, and deliver large-scale, distributed software applications and services.
- Utilize multi-threaded and distributed programming in Java and C++ within a Linux environment.
- Work with JDBC, SQL, Object-Oriented design, and middleware messaging systems.
- Assist in gathering and analyzing business and functional requirements.
- Translate requirements into technical specifications for scalable solutions.
- Serve as a technical lead on complex projects, adhering to engineering standards.
- Produce comprehensive and usable software documentation.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation and travel for onsite troubleshooting as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Education: A Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. An equivalent combination of a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience is also acceptable.
- Experience: One year of experience in Software Engineering, Software Development, or a related occupation is required with a Master's degree. Experience must include multi-threaded programming and distributed programming in Java or C++ on Linux.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in JDBC, SQL, and Object-Oriented design and design patterns is required.
Pay
The pay rate for this position is $75 per hour.
