Software Dev Engineer III, Programming Foundations

About the role

The Programming Foundations Team within Amazon Builder Experience is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Language Experience team in Builder Tools. This team is the central hub for Amazon's use of programming languages, shared software, and application build tools, which are utilized across the entire organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and build developer tools that Amazon engineers use daily
• Work with the languages and libraries powering Amazon's services to make them easier to use and more reliable
• Maintain build tools, compilers, and package managers
• Collaborate with engineers across Amazon to understand their needs and build tools to address them
• Write code, review code from teammates, and assist in debugging tool issues

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
