Software Dev Engineer - AWS Glacier
About the role
Amazon S3 Glacier is a secure, durable, and extremely low-cost cloud storage service for data archiving and long-term backup. It is designed to deliver 99.999999999% durability and provides comprehensive security capabilities. Customers use Glacier to store data long term, while having the flexibility of retrieving their data within a few minutes (using expedited retrieval speed) or few hours (using standard or bulk retrieval speeds).
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of a distributed storage service that operates at extreme scale.
- Operate on the bleeding edge of innovations in the storage field, and solve challenging fundamental computer science problems.
- Work on the next set of major hardware and software enhancements to the service.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Qualifications
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl
