About the role

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Software Configuration Analyst - Level 4 to support the development, enforcement, and maintenance of Software Configuration Management (SCM) processes on large-scale programs.

Responsibilities

  • Cook up and generate configured builds for testing and delivery.
  • Communicate issues and risks related to issues, solutions, and releases.
  • Administer the Software CM tools (installation, upgrades, and maintenance).
  • Facilitate and scribe for control board meetings, creating build and delivery documentation, and process improvement activities.
  • Establish and implement procedures to coordinate changes to program data and products.
  • Ensure implementation of SCM, code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Be responsible for tasks including, but not limited to: coordinating and generating configured builds for test and delivery; communicating issues and risks; administration of the Software CM tools; facilitating and scribing for control board meetings; establishing and implementing procedures to coordinate changes to program data and products; ensuring implementation of SCM, code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD.
  • Additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI at time of application.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience with Jira, Jenkins, and Git/Version Control Software.
  • Experience working with Docker containers.
  • Ability to identify the needs to build automation, designing and implementing CI/CD solutions.
  • Ability to express technical information clearly at different organizational levels.
  • Experience in software configuration management.
  • Experience with coordinating/creating configured builds for test and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Possess understanding of SCM principles, concepts, industry practices and standards as required.
  • Conduct and support internal and external customer audits.
  • Generate metrics and code counts for program management and proposal efforts.
  • Ability to multi-task and complete tasks with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High level of problem solving is required to troubleshoot system issues and prevent downtime.

Skills

  • Experience with developing microservices.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Helm charts.
  • Experience with Agile development.
  • Excellent technical writing and team building skills.
  • Experience with SW CM branching strategies & tagging, pull requests, merges, and build versioning.
  • Experience administering centralized document repositories such as SharePoint, Confluence, or Documentum, including access control management.
  • Proficiency in defining and enforcing configuration baselines for source code, libraries, build scripts, and release packages.
  • Experience implementing document numbering schemes, revision tracking, and approval workflow processes.
  • Knowledge of periodic document review practices, including retirement of obsolete documents and archiving historic versions.
  • Experience providing day-to-day developer support: branch creation, merge conflict resolution, and access provisioning.
  • Experience creating traceability matrices and compiling evidence of compliance to support internal and external audits.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
