About the role
The Analyst performs project management activities related to software documentation supplied by third parties in support of final passenger-car design. The position develops project-specific software management plans to customer-required standards, recommends hardware specifications for deliverables such as software workstations, and contributes to the execution of the company’s software-management strategic plans, including CMMI-compliant process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Review supplier software design and lifecycle documents for technical requirements, content, and compliance with IEEE, EN, and other applicable standards.
- Prepare plans and schedules for deliverables such as software workstations and test equipment.
- Prepare and track submission of software-related documents to customers and suppliers.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers to ensure timely submission of deliverables.
- Maintain full awareness of all software-related project deliverable requirements and schedules to support project goals.
- Record and maintain Configuration Management records of suppliers’ software, including Software Modification Requests.
- Support and enhance document and software version management.
- Provide support to other departments as required.
- Perform other assignments as directed by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another IT field of study, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in software implementation and maintenance.
- Experience or familiarity with embedded-processor implementation.
- Experience or familiarity with commercial/technical contracts, supplier management, and project-management principles.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of technical expertise.
- Strong, independent service orientation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience writing formal software documentation.
- Familiarity with IEEE Software Engineering Standards, preferably IEEE 1558-2004.
- Familiarity with EN Software Engineering Standards, preferably EN 50716:2023, EN 50657:2017, or EN 50128:2011.
- Some experience or familiarity with network protocols, hard-wired/wireless LAN implementation, and/or support.
- Familiarity with CMMI Institute Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a plus.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 Quality Methods is a plus.
- Familiarity with general cybersecurity concepts and measures is a plus.
- Limited travel may be required.
- Experience using Windows 10 or later PC operating systems and Microsoft Office.
Pay
Up to $85,000, depending on experience.
