About the role

Position: Softball, Asst. Coach/Girls at Palmetto Ridge High School. Season: Spring (SPR). FTE: 1.00.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED (minimum requirement).
• One reference letter (not required for current CCPS staff).
• Current Florida Educator Certification or Athletic Coaching Certification required.
• Basic Life Support Program (First Aid, CPR and AED) completion.

Qualifications

The Florida Department of Education issues two types of Athletic Coaching Certificates:

• 3‑Year Temporary Certificate – issued only to give a coach the opportunity to complete the requirements for the 5‑Year Certificate; not renewable.
• 5‑Year Athletic Coaching Certificate.

Who needs it:

• Coaches who are paid a supplement from the school district but do not hold a Temporary or Professional Educator Certificate.
• Volunteer coaches who are employees of Collier County Public Schools but do not hold a Temporary or Professional Educator’s Certification.
