Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Social Worker at the Amarillo VA Health Care System to oversee the administration and management of the VA Medical Center's Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC).

About the Role

Works as the leader of the PRRC interdisciplinary team and has a major responsibility for evidence-based assessment and treatment in this program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide range of psychological assessment services - including expert assessment and diagnostic services for Veterans experiencing impairment associated with symptoms of severe mental illness.
  • Provide treatment/rehabilitation services for Veterans with a wide range of problems - including in-person and virtual individual and group therapy - family/relationship counseling - and psychoeducation.
  • Provide recovery-oriented, evidenced based interventions for serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
  • Serve as Recovery Coach for Veterans enrolled in the PRRC.
  • Oversee the establishment and interpretation of data from program monitors and outcome measurements within programs assigned using a data-driven quality assurance process.
  • Assumes a primary role in the design, development, and implementation of clinical programs for a multidisciplinary team of treatment providers.
  • Facilitates liaisons with other programs, such as Intensive Community Mental Health Recovery (ICMHR), to effectively coordinate services.
  • Direct supervisory responsibilities - including serving as supervisor/rater for various staff (e.g. Psychologists - Licensed Clinical Social Workers - Peer Support Specialists - and Recreational Therapists).
  • Oversee the fiscal matters of the functions supervised (including fund controls - contracts - and equipment expenditures).
  • Forecast resource and equipment needs and administer the allocated budget.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to further program goals and enhance patient-centered care.
