Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Qualifications
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
- Must have a master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited school.
- Must be licensed or certified as an advanced practice social worker.
- Must meet current state requirements for social work licensure.
Experience
- One year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
- Experience must demonstrate advanced practice skills and judgment.
- Candidates may have certification or other post-master's degree training.
- Must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Skill in coordinating and implementing specialty programs.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Ability to provide full range of supervisory duties.
- Ability to oversee fiscal matters.
- Knowledge of organizational structure and its impact on program operations.
Physical Requirements
- Generally minor physical demands involving sitting - standing - walking - bending - stooping - climbing stairs - and carrying light items.
- Uses a computer and standard office equipment.
- Emotional demands can be stressful due to working with the Veteran/Patient population and their families/caregivers.
Program Overview
The Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MH RRTP) at Tennessee Valley focuses on SUD and PTSD. It provides a comprehensive - evidence-based - patient-centered treatment program in a safe environment to help residents achieve and maintain independence.
Responsibilities
- Lead an interdisciplinary team including social workers - vocational rehabilitation specialists - addiction therapists - psychologists - peer specialists - clinical pharmacy practitioners - psychiatric nurses - nurse practitioners - and nurses.
- Direct, administer, and manage all aspects of the program.
- Determine program needs.
- Evaluate assigned program areas.
- Create a supportive work environment.
- Triage and assign referrals for services.
- Maintain therapeutic relationships and provide treatment.
- Implement ongoing program evaluation and outcome projects.
Qualifications for Program Manager
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience treating SUD and/or PTSD in inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Experience with clinical consultation and creating evidence-based therapeutic practices.
- Experience with clinical practice guidelines.
- Experience with program planning - implementation - and management.
- Experience with program evaluation and outcome projects.
