About the role
The Social Worker (PRN) at Children’s Wisconsin provides support to children and their families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Duties include addressing social, psychological, and economic needs, discharge planning, referrals to community agencies, and educating families about healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Short-term, crisis-oriented counseling
- Referrals to community agencies, programs, and services
- Educating patients/families about illness, hospital procedures, and community resources
- Assisting with discharge planning for inpatients and their families
- Consulting with other professionals to understand the strengths and needs of patients and families
- Assessing the medical history of the child and family to assist with diagnosis and treatment plans
- Providing courteous and helpful service to patients/families, department staff, visitors, and employees from other departments
Requirements
- 1+ years of previous social work or related field experience required
- Hospital experience preferred
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in MSW required

Pay
$50,000 - $60,000 annually based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
PRN/Part-time: 2-3 days per week, Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, No evenings, No weekends.
