Social Worker (Licensed)

About the role

The Jewish Board’s Youth and Family Division supports domestic violence survivors and their family members. Staff guide residents to create and meet personalized recovery goals, stabilize families, develop independent living skills, and plan effectively for healthy and secure living.

Responsibilities

• Carries a caseload of residents and provides services within program regulations and agency mission.
• Completes client assessments, including intake assessments, overall client assessments, and risk assessments.
• Evaluates and supports clients in meeting individual goals through person-centered and collaborative service planning.
• Interprets and explains agency policies and procedures to residents.
• Develops and implements safety plans, provides individual and family counseling, makes referrals, and coordinates services.
• Advocates on behalf of residents with other service providers and links them to community-based programs.
• Makes presentations and runs groups under supervision.
• Participates in audit preparation.
• Documents incident reports and regularly updates resident interaction records.
• Facilitates roommate meetings when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Social Work or similar field, LMSW or LCSW preferred.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in Human Services.
• Willingness to work with individuals experiencing mental illness, substance use, and trauma.
• Patience and understanding for the recovery process.

Computer Skills

• Familiarity with Windows environment.
• Ability and willingness to learn new systems and application software.

Physical Demands

• Travel in the community.
• Walk up flights of stairs.
• Lift up to 25 lbs.
