The Role
The social worker at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) provides professional services to patients and families, facilitating access to resources to support optimal functioning.
Responsibilities
- Provides skilled psychosocial assessment and collaborates with care team for comprehensive treatment to patients and families.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of professional services and adjusts/redefines goals and modalities as necessary.
- Shares information regarding patient/family situation with staff from other agencies and programs as appropriate.
- Organizes workload and sets priorities based on patient care needs.
- Completes documentation in a timely manner that meets department, hospital, and legal standards.
- Identifies barriers to effective service delivery or problems in work assignments and contributes to initiatives that improve service delivery.
- Recognizes professional strengths and areas for growth and actively develops and enhances professional practice skills.
- Adheres to NASW Code of Ethics and CHOP Social Work Department standards for continuing education, participation in professional committees, meetings, and cross-coverage assignments.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work - Required
- Previous experience in a hospital, health organization, or mental health agency setting - Preferred
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire
- Membership in the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW) - Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW) - upon hire
Qualifications
- Education Qualifications: Master's Degree Social Work - Required
- Experience Qualifications: Previous experience in a hospital, health organization, or mental health agency setting - Preferred

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

$69,200.00 - $88,200.00 Annually
