About the role

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians. Central Regional Hospital is currently recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker in the Psychosocial Treatment Department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide group therapy for adult patients primarily, and for children and adolescent patients if needed.
  • Report directly to the PST Psychology/SW/Creative Arts Supervisor to ensure treatment components are clinically sound, evidence-based, and meet hospital and departmental clinical objectives and standards.
  • Supervise social work students and/or volunteers performing work or service during group treatments and be in direct observation of these students/volunteers during these activities.
  • Participate in specialized activities to enhance patients' well-being and treatment.
  • Function as a liaison to a patient care unit, participate in treatment team planning, and complete patient enrollment in preferred groups.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an appropriately accredited school of social work.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.
  • Basic knowledge of trauma-informed care and psychiatric disorders.
  • Ability to represent all disciplines of PST in treatment team meetings.
  • Competent handling of conflict and volatile individuals.
  • Clear communication skills with patients and staff.

Qualifications

Necessary Special Qualification Requirements: One must fulfill all requirements for Licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.

Benefits

This position offers a Sign-on bonus of $5,000 contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval. Candidates must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible for the Sign-on Bonus. The position is Exempt from certain provisions of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126).

Pay

The salary grade range for this position is $52,592.00 - $93,036.00 annually.

Schedule

The position is scheduled to work Day shift, 7:30am - 5:00pm, with flexibility.
