This role is a remote position, allowing you to work from your home within the continental US, with occasional office visits based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an advocate for claimants, providing access to community services such as financial assistance, legal aid, and housing.
- Develops, plans, and implements programs to improve the comfort and care of patients and their families.
- Advises family caregivers on medical decisions.
- Uses clinical expertise to formulate care plans and provide ongoing support to claimants and their families.
- Handles complex issues and refers only the most complex cases to higher-level staff.
- Provides emotional support to clients dealing with trauma, illness, or disability related to their claims.
- Helps claimants understand the claims process and maintains clear communication.
- Connects clients to additional resources such as healthcare services, financial aid programs, rehabilitation services, or legal assistance.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and referrals.
- Conducts research to stay updated on developments in social work.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Familiarity with disability claim management concepts.
- Good understanding of medical terminology, pathology, and anatomy.
- Articulate verbal and writing skills, decision-making ability, and experience meeting deadlines.
- Moderate skills with Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- Customer service skills, stress tolerance, and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Results-driven with a focus on departmental/company procedures and practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in social work or a related field (Master's Degree preferred).
- Professional master's level license (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, LPC).
- 3 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Disability and insurance industry experience preferred.
Pay
The salary range for this job is $70,000 to $90,000. This range considers factors such as education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation.
