About the role

Career Team is a leading workforce development organization focused on transforming lives through technology and compassionate services. We are currently seeking a Social Worker to join our Employment and Training Services team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group interventions, as well as necessary staff interventions
  • Support customers' success by providing counseling services and outlets for discussion regarding all aspects of a participant’s life
  • Make referrals and appropriate linkages
  • Partner with the case manager to provide wrap-around services
  • Support customers in achieving their individual success plans
  • Provide education/training to other staff
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate records of all case management interactions
  • Submit required reports
  • Report any critical incidents to the appropriate authorities, supervisors, and contract managers
  • Prepare and present reports of activities and accomplishments
  • Approach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindset

Requirements

  • A Maryland Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Prior experience in care coordination work
  • Knowledgeable about the local region and relevant partners
  • Experience in trauma-informed care, harm reduction, de-escalation techniques, and vicarious trauma
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • A Valid Driver's License

Qualifications

  • A Maryland Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Preferred knowledge of EARN, TANF, or similar services
  • Training in trauma-informed care, harm reduction, de-escalation techniques, and vicarious trauma
  • Ability to apply positive engagement, motivational, and leadership skills in a culturally appropriate manner
  • Experience, knowledge of, and sensitivity to homeless issues, and the particular issues and barriers faced by families, children, and veterans experiencing homelessness
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including detail-minded record-keeping and excellent computer skills
  • Astounding ability to multitask and be proactive
  • Ability to facilitate/supervise groups preferred
  • Experience in care coordination work
  • Ability to hear and process critical feedback, as well as, provide it to others
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments
  • Flexibility, creativity, positive attitude, and good humor
