Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work or a related field
  • Master’s Degree in social work or a related field
  • Professional master’s level license (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, LPC)
  • 3 or more years of related experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred: Disability and insurance industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an advocate for claimants, connecting them to community services such as financial assistance, legal aid, and housing
  • Develop, plan, and implement programs to improve comfort and care for patients and their families
  • Advise family caregivers on medical decisions
  • Use clinical expertise to formulate and support care plans for claimants and their families
  • Handle complex issues, escalating only the most complex to higher-level staff
  • Provide emotional support to clients dealing with trauma, illness, or disability
  • Help claimants understand the claims process and ensure clear communication
  • Connect clients to additional resources (healthcare, financial aid, rehabilitation, legal assistance)
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and referrals
  • Conduct research to stay updated on developments in social work
  • Perform other related duties as required

Pay

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000, with offers considering factors such as education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. Incentive pay or benefits may be provided separately.
