Responsibilities

The Administrative Manager I will bring leadership, vision and direction to the planning, implementation and evaluation of countywide health promotion services to improve individual, organizational and community health. Responsibilities include:

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be an experienced health professional with an emphasis on community health promotion who is also a team player with outstanding leadership, managerial, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as broad vision and the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Principles and practices of public health promotion, primary prevention, and health education;
  • Techniques for mobilization of community partnerships and community action to identify and solve health problems;
  • Current public health, behavioral health and related literature;
  • Federal, State and local laws and regulations pertaining to public health, mental health and substance abuse.

Ability to:

  • Develop and articulate agency-wide policies and innovative research based strategies and plans that support individual and community health promotion and protection efforts;
  • Inform, educate, and empower individuals and groups about health issues;
  • Develop and foster effective working relationships with mandated advisory boards, all agency programs and divisions, as well as agencies sharing common interests and objectives;
  • Maintain budgetary control over multiple programs with multiple funding sources and regulations;
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing with persons at all levels of the organization, other agencies, and the public in all cultural and socio-economic groups;
  • Prepare clear and concise presentations, reports and recommendations.

Compensation and Benefits

Your starting earning potential is based on your experience and education and ranges from $66,560.00 - $106,080.00 annually plus an attractive benefit package including:

  • Participation in the Orange County Employees Retirement system
  • Medical, dental, life and long term disability insurance plan
  • Deferred compensation plan available “Cafeteria Plan” of $3500 per year of additional optional benefits
  • Competitive leave options including three weeks vacation increasing to four weeks after three years of County employment
  • 12 paid County holidays
