Job Summary

Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality social studies instruction aligned with school and Archdiocesan curriculum standards.
- Create a structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environment that promotes critical thinking and active learning.
- Integrate Catholic values and perspectives into classroom discussions and learning experiences.
- Develop lessons that incorporate primary sources, project-based learning, and inquiry-based activities.
- Absess student progress using a variety of tools and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, grades, and student documentation.
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.
- Collaborate with the middle school team on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and school initiatives.
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and schoolwide events.
- Model Catholic values and contribute positively to the spiritual life of the school community.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, History, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Missouri teaching certification or eligibility for certification.
- Experience teaching middle school students or working with adolescents.
- Strong understanding of social studies content, instructional strategies, and adolescent development.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Must meet Archdiocesan compliance requirements, including Safe Environment training.
