Social Studies Teacher (9th-12th)

About the role

Under general supervision, a Social Studies teacher plans, organizes, and implements an appropriate instructional program in the secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and accomplish their academic goals by creating a safe classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to the maturity level and interest of all students.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and informative lessons on a variety of social studies topics
• Assess student learning and progress through regular assessments and evaluations
• Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them reach their full potential
• Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and professional development opportunities
• Stay current on best practices and changes in the field of social studies education
