About the role
The Oxford Hills School District is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Grades 3-6 Social Skills Teacher to join the Paris Elementary School team. This position focuses on functional skill development and encourages, inspires, and supports the learning process for all students.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive learning environment
- Work closely with students to develop social skills and functional life competencies
- Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to support student success
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching methods and student outcomes
Requirements
- Current certification (282) Special Education in Maine
- Experience working with students in Grades 3-6
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of educators and support staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience with functional life skills programming
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and strategies

- Proficiency in using technology to support student learning

Our Region
The Oxford Hills School District (MSAD #17) comprises the towns of Norway, South Paris, West Paris, Oxford, Waterford, Harrison, Hebron, and Otisfield. MSAD #17 shares vocational resources and accepts students in its Oxford Hills Technical School programs from the RSU10 School District towns of Buckfield, Hartford, and Sumner. Oxford Hills/Nezinscot Adult Education is located within the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. The Oxford Hills offer a variety of outdoor resources for anyone wishing to enjoy the region, whatever the season. The area boasts more than ten lakes and ponds for outdoor recreation, a land trust with hundreds of acres for skiing, snowshoeing, and is in close proximity to several downhill skiing areas!
