Social Skills Interventionist - Lyndon Town School

About the role

The Social Skills Interventionist (SSI) will provide direct, individualized support to children and youth with significant social, emotional, and behavioral needs in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students focused on social skills development, self-regulation, and daily functioning
• Implement individualized treatment and positive behavior support plans
• Follow crisis prevention and de-escalation protocols
• Collect and maintain accurate, timely behavioral data and documentation
• Collaborate with school teams, supervisors, and treatment providers
• Attend team meetings, supervision, and required trainings
• Support students in both school and community settings
• Provide transportation using your personal vehicle as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or related field
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a school-based setting
• Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
• Ability to establish rapport and collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and other professionals
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

Qualifications

• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Experience with Positive Behavior Support (PBS) frameworks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
