About the role
The Social Skills Interventionist (SSI) will provide direct, individualized support to children and youth with significant social, emotional, and behavioral needs in a school setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students focused on social skills development, self-regulation, and daily functioning
- Implement individualized treatment and positive behavior support plans
- Follow crisis prevention and de-escalation protocols
- Collect and maintain accurate, timely behavioral data and documentation
- Collaborate with school teams, supervisors, and treatment providers
- Attend team meetings, supervision, and required trainings
- Support students in both school and community settings
- Provide transportation using your personal vehicle as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or related field
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school-based setting
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Ability to establish rapport and collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and other professionals
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
Qualifications
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience with Positive Behavior Support (PBS) frameworks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
