Responsibilities

  • Assists with the direct care, safety, development, and well-being of all child participants.
  • Assists with the implementation of developmentally appropriate program activities for infants and toddlers.
  • Provides informal parenting education to parent participants.
  • Observes child behavior and notes observations.
  • Assists with screenings and assessments.
  • Records and enters data.
  • Maintains records and reports.
  • Provides a clean and appropriate environment.
  • Enforces health and safety standards.
  • Assists with transportation of families to and from the Center.
  • Attends trainings and meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Must have 90 clock hours Core Knowledge Training.
  • Possess child growth and development knowledge from birth through five years of age.
  • Maintain respect for confidentiality.
  • Relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Model appropriate interaction with young children and parents.
  • Able to work independently as well as a team member and leader.
  • Able to schedule and manage time.

  • Licenses and Certificates:
    • This position requires a valid license equivalent to a non-commercial, class C Maryland driver's license at the time of appointment.
