Responsibilities
- Provides therapeutic counseling services to juvenile offenders and their families as a result of identified needs via referral and assessment.
- Completes court ordered or agency directed assessments, to include juvenile sexual offender assessments.
- Provides individual, group and family counseling based on identified needs to identify juvenile offenders and their families, as applicable.
- Counsels family when applicable.
- Maintains mental health file on all youth who receive services to include: All copies of assessments, reassessments and court reports, release of information and information received as result of release, treatment work completed by youth and family, and detailed treatment notes as a result of each session.
- Enters all case contacts in the youth's electronic file. Contacts shall consist of a brief statement that includes who was present and contacted, level of participation and cooperation, and next scheduled contact or plan of action.
- Participates in treatment planning conferences and reviews for case being served by DJJ Mental Health.
- Maintains contact with DJJ Juvenile Service Worker on relevant case information and treatment progress.
- Reports any known violations of youth's conditions of supervision to Juvenile Service Worker immediately.
- Participates in administrative revocation hearings.
- Completes professional development opportunities via training, workshops and professional literature as required.
- Required to be on call 24/7 and respond to emergency situations.
- Travel may be required.
Requirements
- A master's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, marriage and family therapy or a related field.
- One year of professional social work experience.
Qualifications
- Substitute Education for Experience: NONE
- Substitute Experience for Education: A bachelor's degree supplemented by three years of professional social work experience will substitute for the primary education and experience requirements.

- Probationary Period: This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
Pay
Salary: $61,215.36 Annually
