About the role

The positions are located in the Child Welfare Services Branch (CWSB) of the Department of Human Services and are responsible for providing supportive services to social service professionals through the performance of extensive fieldwork and outreach services. The CWSB provides services for child protection, foster care, adoption, independent living skills, case management foster home recruitment and licensing, and contracted support and treatment services to prevent and remedy abuse and neglect.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive services to social service professionals through fieldwork and outreach services.
  • Engage with clients to perform clerical tasks, transport clients and materials, explain services, and oversee group activities.
  • Perform clerical tasks in processing various documents.
  • Transport clients and materials to and from various destinations.
  • Assist in overseeing group activities such as bowling and swimming.

Requirements

  • Legal Authorization To Work Requirement: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • Basic Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; or experience demonstrating reading, comprehension, and applying written directions, a high degree of verbal skill, and basic mathematical computations, including averaging.
  • Specialized Experience: One year for Level II; two years for Level III; three years for Level IV, in providing supportive services to professional workers in a social service or health-related agency.

  • Driver's License: Valid at the time of appointment.

Pay

  • Level II: $3,201 per month (SR-07, Step C).
  • Level III: $3,333 to 4,221 per month (SR-09, Step C to I).
  • Level IV: $3,606 to 4,563 per month (SR-11, Step C to I).
