Social Science Teacher

The San Juan Unified School District is seeking a full-time teacher at San Juan High School.

About the role

This position is open until filled and accepting applications. It is screened weekly for applicants. Applications should be submitted no later than midnight on Sundays to be considered for the week.

Responsibilities

• Teach high school level courses as assigned
• Plan and implement curriculum aligned with district standards
• Assess student learning and provide feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff
• Maintain classroom discipline and safety
• Participate in professional development activities

Requirements

• Valid California teaching credential
• Experience teaching high school level courses
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred
• Advanced degrees may qualify for additional stipends

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $126,000 annually. Candidates must be internal employees to be placed on Column 5; for external candidates, Column 4 is the maximum incoming placement.

Schedule

• Length of work year: 10 months/year, 186 days/year, 5 days/week
