Social Science/Humanities Research Associate I

About the Role

The Social Science/Humanities Research Associate I supports the lab's eating disorders research program by conducting structured clinical interviews with patients, contributing to the development of the TeenGrowth web-based application, and managing and analyzing study data. This half-time position bridges clinical assessment, research technology, and data science to advance the lab's research on adolescent eating disorders. The position is scheduled for 20 weekly hours and is expected to continue until August 14, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical interviews and diagnostic assessments with eating disorder patients, including scheduling, administering structured/semi-structured interviews, and documenting findings in accordance with study protocols and IRB requirements.
• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of the TeenGrowth web-based application, collaborating with the research and technical team to translate study requirements into functional features.
• Manage, clean, and analyze research data in the lab, including maintaining databases, ensuring data quality and integrity, and conducting statistical analyses to support ongoing studies and publications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, public health, cognitive science, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience conducting structured or semi-structured clinical/diagnostic interviews, or comparable direct experience working with clinical populations.
• Demonstrated proficiency in data management and statistical analysis using tools, including REDCap.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with eating disorder or adolescent/pediatric populations in a clinical or research setting.
• Experience with web application development and/or research data platforms such as REDCap.

Pay

$24,000

Schedule

20 scheduled weekly hours. This is a non-exempt, half-time position expected to continue until August 14, 2027.
