Social Media Video Content Creator

Full-time

About the Role

Zamzows is looking for a Social Media Video Content Creator who knows how to have fun, tell a great story, and make people stop scrolling. If you’re the person who sees a houseplant, a dog, a bag of fertilizer, or a crazy garden transformation and immediately thinks, “We could make a great video out of this,” we should talk. We want someone who can take ordinary products, tips, customer questions, or everyday Zamzows moments and turn them into content people actually want to watch. You may occasionally find yourself talking to a camera while holding a tomato plant.

Responsibilities

  • Create fun, entertaining, and informative videos for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms
  • Come up with creative ideas that make people stop scrolling
  • Shoot and edit short-form videos from start to finish
  • Get comfortable being on camera and occasionally convincing other members of the Zamzows team to join you
  • Turn gardening, lawn care, plants, pets, products, and everyday Zamzows moments into entertaining content
  • Create videos that educate without feeling like a lecture
  • Keep an eye on social media trends, sounds, memes, formats, and new ways to tell stories
  • Develop recurring video ideas and series that people look forward to
  • Help showcase our team, stores, products, customers, and the communities we serve
  • Work with the team to turn marketing ideas into content that feels authentic and distinctly Zamzows
  • Pay attention to what's getting views, comments, shares, and engagement — then figure out how to make the next one even better

Requirements

You're probably a great fit if you:

  • Are fun, outgoing, and naturally engaging
  • Have a personality that comes through on camera
  • Love creating things and aren't afraid to try something different
  • Can make something interesting out of almost anything
  • Know how to tell a story in 30–60 seconds
  • Understand what makes people laugh, learn, or want to share something
  • Actually enjoy social media and understand what people are watching right now
  • Are comfortable being a little silly when the video calls for it
  • Can make great content without needing a giant production crew
  • Take feedback well and aren't precious about changing an idea
  • Can work independently but enjoy being part of a team
  • Are curious and willing to learn about gardening, lawn care, plants, pets, and the products we sell

You don't have to be a lifelong gardening expert, but you should be excited to learn, ask questions, and turn what you learn into great content.

Skills

Experience with some combination of:

  • Short-form video creation
  • Video editing
  • Social media content
  • Shooting with a phone, camera, or both
  • Lighting and audio
  • Storytelling and scripting
  • On-camera presenting or performance
  • Video editing software such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar

Portfolio & Submission

Your portfolio is required. Bring a portfolio of your work to your interview, showcasing your creativity and style. It can include social media videos, funny videos, personal projects, commercials, reels, photography, animation, storytelling, or anything else that highlights your talent.

Submit a 1-minute video demonstrating your art and creativity. Make us laugh, teach us something, tell us a story, or show us a cool skill. The video can be about Zamzows, gardening, your dog, your favorite plant, lawn care, or anything that showcases who you are as a creator. We’re looking for a great idea, personality, and creativity — not a Hollywood production.

Why Zamzows?

Zamzows is all about helping people grow — their lawns, gardens, plants, homes, and communities. We want our social media to reflect that same spirit: real people, real stories, useful information, humor, personality, and creativity. You’ll have the opportunity to shape what Zamzows looks and sounds like on social media and bring our brand to life in ways that connect with today’s customers.

What Success Looks Like

You make people:

  • Stop scrolling
  • Watch
  • Learn or laugh
  • Share
  • Follow
  • Visit us in-store

Along the way, you might help someone figure out why their tomato plant looks sad — that’s a win.

Schedule

This is a part-time to full-time position. Availability to work on weekends is required. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, based on the needs of the business.

Occasional travel may be required between retail locations.
