About the role

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. As a Senior Social Media Manager, you will build upon, nurture, and expand our social media engagement with customers and space enthusiasts. This individual contributor role is responsible for the strategy, execution, and daily management of our Blue Origin and Club for the Future platforms, including engaging and growing our followers, influencers, employees, customers, and media to advocate our vision of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth while growing the brand and generating sales.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and usage behaviors. You have proven expertise in developing and executing effective social media campaigns to drive awareness, engagement, and reputation (and crisis) management. This role is hands-on, working closely with our creative, digital marketing, and public relations teams, and reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies across platforms (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others) while understanding our customer base and segmentation, including B2G, B2B, and B2C audiences.
  • Propose and help create compelling content, including posts, videos, graphics, and other multimedia elements to share Blue Origin and Club for the Future’s mission and milestones.
  • Manage social media channels on a day-to-day basis, including scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, identifying opportunities and issues, and managing inquiries and comments.
  • Partner closely with the larger Marketing, Sales, Communications, and Public Relations teams to ensure alignment of messaging and consistency of brand voice.
  • Be a “doer” and “owner” who can manage disparate stakeholders and opinions while thinking big and inventing new ways to tell Blue’s story.
  • Monitor social media trends, analyze and benchmark performance metrics, and generate recommendations to evaluate and accelerate campaign effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities, and emerging social media trends and platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices, guidelines, regulations, and Blue Origin policies.
  • Produce thoughtful and clear writing narratives that deliver “defect-free” content in a high-velocity, always-on environment.
  • Work day-to-day with external vendors, customers, and partners, including photographers and video production teams, to optimize results and drive down budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Sales Excellence, or Journalism highly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in the aerospace, technology, or related industry.
  • Strong understanding and previous usage of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Expert—world-class—writing and editing skills. A detailed, thoughtful, and clear narrative writer that delivers “defect-free” content.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging content and execute effective social media strategies.
  • Proven proficiency in social media management tools and analytic platforms.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, interrupt-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Team player with a collaborative, can-do, and humble mindset that is results-driven.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends in AI and digital marketing and related usage models.
  • Passion for space exploration and commitment to Blue Origin's mission to benefit Earth.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Schedule

This is an on-site and in-office position, with occasional travel. The preferred office location is at Rocket Park in Merritt Island, FL.
