Social Media Marketing Specialist (Kill Devil Hills)
About the role
We’re a multi-brand Outer Banks company built around adventure, retail, and unforgettable experiences. From kites and surf gear to hang gliding and coastal lifestyle apparel, our mission is to create uplifting experiences and share the best of OBX culture with the world. We’re looking for a data-driven social media marketer to bring structure, consistency, and performance to our social media and paid efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Work hand-in-hand with the Content Manager daily
Build and maintain a weekly content calendar
Help guide content needs based on performance insights
Ensure alignment between creative output and marketing goals
Ensure consistent posting (minimum 10 posts/week across brands)
Balance content across: o Retail o Ecommerce o Events o Adventure/recreation
Optimize captions, timing, and formatting for performance
Manage day-to-day posting across: o Facebook & Instagram (primary focus) o Pinterest (secondary support for ecommerce) o TikTok (limited/secondary involvement for now)
Continuously test and improve engagement and reach
Execute and manage ~$10,000/month in ad spend
Build, launch, and optimize campaigns on: o Meta (Facebook & Instagram) o Support additional platforms as needed
Improve ROAS, conversions, and campaign efficiency over time
Track and report weekly on: o Post consistency and output o Engagement rates o ROAS o Ecommerce and recreation revenue impact
Provide clear insights and recommendations to improve performance
Respond to comments and messages across platforms
Support turning social engagement into customer relationships and sales opportunities
What We're Looking For
Experience managing social media + paid Meta ads
Strong understanding of how to optimize content for performance
Data-driven mindset (comfortable owning KPIs like ROAS, engagement, etc.)
Highly organized and consistent executor
Comfortable collaborating closely with a creative/content partner
Ability to manage multiple brands simultaneously
Bonus Points
Experience with retail, ecommerce, or tourism brands
Familiarity with Pinterest for ecommerce support
Passion for beach lifestyle, outdoor adventure, or OBX culture
