Social Media Marketing Specialist - Contract
About the role
This role is focused on driving the online presence for a high-profile entertainment book launch celebrating the 65th anniversary of The Dick Van Dyke Show. The selected freelancer will collaborate closely with a PR professional to create and execute a dynamic social media campaign across Facebook and Instagram. The campaign will leverage existing photos, videos, and publicity materials to engage fans and generate excitement leading up to and through October 5, 2026. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, a passion for pop culture, and the ability to craft compelling content that resonates with entertainment audiences.
Deliverables
- Develop and schedule engaging posts, Reels, and short-form videos for Facebook and Instagram throughout the campaign period
- Utilize provided assets (photos, video, publicity materials) to create visually appealing and on-brand content
- Manage the posting calendar to ensure consistent and timely updates
- Monitor engagement and respond to comments or messages as needed to foster community interaction
- Collaborate with the PR lead to align social content with the overall campaign strategy
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing social media campaigns, ideally within entertainment or pop culture sectors
- Proficiency in creating and editing short-form video content for social platforms
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences
- Familiarity with Facebook and Instagram scheduling tools
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Available for a one-month contract, with flexibility to post and engage as needed through October 5, 2026
- Based in the US or able to work US time zones preferred
