Team members in this role strategize and create comprehensive, cross-platform, high-quality social-media communications for Highmark Health social media channels across multiple brands and target audiences. This role can be hybrid or remote - preferred location is Pittsburgh, PA. If you live within 50 miles of the office you will be onsite 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
Responsibilities
- Assists in all aspects of social-media marketing, including content/SEO strategy, content calendaring and publishing, social networking and client management, monitoring, and reporting/analytics.
- Consults with internal departments and programs to develop strategic plans and content for social channels.
- Develops and shares expertise in social platforms, trends, and technologies.
- Strategizes social-media plans and activities—including content strategy, creation, publishing, and performance analysis—to meet business objectives and customer needs.
- Develops innovative approaches to drive social engagement, brand affinity, and customer loyalty.
- Advises and collaborates with internal and external clients (program managers, subject matter experts, digital/marketing specialists, community partners) on social media initiatives.
- Meets regularly with clients and stakeholders to understand business objectives, develop targeted social campaigns or content, and report on tactics and outcomes.
- Markets social media platforms and capabilities internally and externally.
- Represents the social media team in stakeholder meetings, internal trainings, and other sessions.
- Serves as a lead or editor for a social channel, owning responsibility for managing daily content and interactions for a business unit or service line while contributing ideas across other platforms.
- Conceptualizes, researches, drafts, circulates for review, and/or publishes daily social content.
- Sources, selects, and creates photos, videos, and other multimedia for social media, including filming and editing content as needed.
- Launches and tracks social campaigns and promotions.
- Ensures all content adheres to business objectives, policies, and brand standards.
- Manages social listening and monitoring of customer and stakeholder conversations, responding to inquiries (including after-hours as needed) and collaborating with customer-service teams.
- Helps evolve Highmark Health’s social platforms, prioritizing and launching new channels.
- Benchmarks peers, competitors, and high performers on social media.
- Researches and reports on emerging social platforms, technologies, and trends in digital and healthcare.
- Measures social activities, analyzes metrics, and develops monthly reports for clients, peers, and management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (required); Master’s Degree (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, corporate communications, or social media.
- 3+ years of writing and editing experience.
- High degree of competency in social media platforms and digital marketing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graphic design experience, including Canva or Photoshop.
- Experience with social media publishing and analytics platforms like Hootsuite, Emplifi, or Sprout.
- Strong demonstration of strategic thinking and execution.
- Strong experience in video-based social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Reels, Shorts).
- Strong ability to execute storytelling effectively for relevant audiences.
