About the role

The Social Media Manager is responsible for driving Vitamin Angels’ growth through consistent, engaging, and impactful social media initiatives. This role leads the strategic vision, planning, execution, analytics, and optimization across Vitamin Angels’ social platforms with the goals of building brand awareness, strengthening partnerships, and driving revenue. The Social Media Manager will develop a compelling social media strategy, editorial calendar, and execute end-to-end social and email campaigns, including creative ideation, copywriting, and asset requests. This role requires collaboration with content creators, designers, the PR team, digital marketing team, and key stakeholders across the organization to deliver an integrated social strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of social media strategy across all Vitamin Angels channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, Vimeo, and emerging platforms) in line with brand goals.
  • Partner with the Director of Digital Marketing to bring the organization’s digital strategy to life through effective social media and email tactics.
  • Engage corporate partners, influencers, and stakeholders in the digital space to broaden Vitamin Angels’ visibility and reach.
  • Manage campaign planning, content calendars, publishing, reporting, and optimization across all social channels.
  • Use data to continually optimize strategy, planning, content, and performance.
  • Oversee monthly content calendar planning, daily publishing, and community management.
  • Serve as the project lead, coordinating diverse contributors and stakeholders to ensure stellar social and email performance.
  • Develop and pitch compelling content ideas to drive impressions, traffic, and engagement.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ideate, craft, and create engaging campaign content.
  • Create creative briefs and draft asset requests for social content.
  • Develop KPIs and monthly performance reports to measure effectiveness and inform optimization.
  • Support the execution of influencer campaigns in partnership with the PR team and agency.
  • Execute email marketing strategy, including copywriting and design.
  • Partner with the digital marketing team to develop compelling copy for paid search, social, and display ads.
  • Build relationships and engage in relevant online conversations to strengthen Vitamin Angels' digital presence.
  • Maximize performance through cross-channel promotion, integrating social and email activations across paid and organic channels.

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of relevant work experience in social media leadership for a global public health nonprofit or comparable organization.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience developing social media and email marketing strategy, plans, content, and analytics.
  • Proven ability to manage monthly content strategy and calendars across multiple channels.
  • Strong, dynamic copywriting skills across various mediums.
  • Proven success growing audience engagement and followers on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and YouTube; experience on emerging platforms (e.g., TikTok, WhatsApp, Bluesky) a plus.
  • Excellent written communication and editing skills, with the ability to write clear briefs for agency and creative partners.
  • Strong knowledge of social media measurement tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
  • Knowledge of organic and paid social, with the ability to connect strategies for maximum brand presence.
  • Ability to translate complex or industry-specific information into digestible content.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative, positive working style with leadership abilities.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage stress, including travel-related stress.
  • Ability to remain seated or stationary for extended periods, including during travel and desk work.

Location: Remote anywhere in the continental US. Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 annually. Travel required: Domestic and international as needed.
