What You Will Be Doing Illumia is seeking a strategic, hands-on Social Media Manager to own our organic social media presence, our employee advocacy program, and the strategy for expanding our reach to new platforms. This role manages the enterprise social media calendar — coordinating content contributed by Growth Marketing, Events, Brand, Product Marketing, and Engagement teams alongside original brand content built to drive awareness and follower growth — and owns the Sprout Social advocacy program end-to-end, from content submission through results reporting. The ideal candidate is a self-driven mover and shaker — genuinely passionate about social media, who takes ownership of the role and proactively finds ways to grow it, rather than waiting to be told what to do next. They are highly organized, data-informed, and excited to build out Illumia's presence on new channels, including unlocking the untapped potential of our existing YouTube content. Job Summary / Purpose Who you will work with: This role partners closely with Growth Marketing, Events, Brand, Product Marketing, and Engagement teams to coordinate their content into the social media calendar. The Social Media Manager also works with the Senior Communications Strategist to ensure brand and messaging consistency across channels, with Human Resources on employee advocacy program adoption. This role reports to the Sr. Director, Marketing. Key Responsibilities and Duties Channel Strategy & Expansion Develops and executes a strategic plan for Illumia’s social media presence to include platform expansion and messaging.Builds a specific plan to activate and grow a YouTube presence, leveraging Illumia's existing video and content assets that are currently underutilized.Recommends platform-specific best practices and content formats to maximize reach and engagement on each channel. Social Media Calendar & Content Coordination Owns and manages the enterprise social media calendar, coordinating incoming content from marketing teams into a single, unified publishing schedule.Builds and publishes original brand content designed to drive brand awareness and follower growth across corporate social channels.Ensure consistent brand voice, quality, and publishing cadence across all scheduled content, regardless of the source team. Employee Advocacy Program (Sprout Social) Owns and manages the Sprout Social employee advocacy program end-to-end: adding new content for employees to share, monitoring submissions and participation, and tracking results.Identifies and recommends improvements to increase employee adoption, participation, and reach through the program. Social Listening, Engagement & Response Monitors social channels daily for mentions, comments, and engagement (social listening), responding to posts and messages in a timely, on-brand manner, as well as escalating or redirecting as necessary.Tracks engagement and sentiment trends and reports out regularly on social listening insights and response activity. Process, Documentation & Reporting Documents social media processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure consistency and continuity.Owns data analysis across all social programs — advocacy, organic content, and social listening — with insights and recommendations for improvement. What You’ll Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.3-5+ years of experience in social media management or community management.Proven experience managing organic social media programs and content calendars across multiple platforms.Experience with social media management and social listening tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar).Strong writing skills for social-specific formats and platform-native content.Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience with Sprout Social, including managing an employee advocacy program.Experience developing or executing a multi-channel or platform expansion strategy (e.g., YouTube, TikTok).Experience with video content strategy or repurposing existing video assets for social distribution.Experience in B2B, SaaS, fintech, technology, or higher education industries.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Monday.com, HubSpot, or similar platforms.
