Strategy, Planning & Content Writing
Developing editorial calendars, scripting posts and short-form video, and crafting captions that capture the Founder/CEO’s authentic voice across platforms.
Content Capture
On-the-ground filming and photography at events, speaking engagements, lab visits, and day-in-the-life moments. Proficiency with both smartphone and DSLR camera required.
Editing & Content Creation
End-to-end post-production including video editing, graphic design, and asset creation. Must be proficient in Premiere Pro and/or CapCut; design experience using Canva or AI-powered tools is acceptable.
Content Analysis & Optimization
Reviewing performance metrics, identifying what's working, and iterating on the content strategy to maximize reach and engagement.
CEO Thought Leadership
Develop and steward the Founder/CEO’s social media persona across LinkedIn, Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, and other relevant platforms, ensuring consistency, authenticity, and alignment with 23andMe's brand and mission. Partner with Head of Communications on PR and social media thought leadership.
Full-Cycle Production
Conceptualize, script, shoot, and edit high-quality video and photo content independently, from ideation through publishing.
Travel & On-Site Coverage
Accompany Founder/CEO to speaking engagements, conferences, media events, and other appearances (approximately 30% travel) to capture real-time content opportunities.
Trend & Culture Tracking
Monitor internet culture, algorithm shifts, and platform trends to identify timely, authentic opportunities for Founder/CEO to participate in relevant conversations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with Brand Marketing, Communications, and Science teams to align Founder/CEO’s content with major product launches, heritage initiatives, and company milestones.
Messaging & Narrative Development
Craft thoughtful, executive-level messaging that positions Founder/CEO as a leading voice in genetics, healthcare, and entrepreneurship.
