About the role
DCU Institute of Future Media, Democracy and Society is seeking a researcher to contribute to its projects and research activities in the areas of media, democracy, and digital technologies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research across one or more of the institute's project areas, which include disinformation, media pluralism, deliberative democracy, digital news, media literacy, online extremism, and related topics
- Contribute to research publications, reports, and project deliverables
- Collaborate with institute researchers and external partners on project activities
- Engage with the institute's research dissemination and public impact activities
Qualifications
- PhD completed or near completion in a relevant field such as media studies, political science, communications, sociology, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated research experience in one or more areas relevant to the institute's work
- Strong publication record or potential appropriate to career stage
Skills
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a research team
- Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies
