Social Media and Marketing Intern

Ajaia | AI Consultancy · New York, NY · 1 wk ago
HybridMarketing$20–$40/hrPart-time

About the role

The Social Media and Marketing Intern creates content that puts Ajaia and our products in front of people. This is a real seat—your work goes out under our name. You’ll cut short-form video, design graphics for Instagram and LinkedIn, write captions and posts that sound human, and help run a weekly publishing calendar. We care more about taste than credentials; if you’ve grown an account, cut videos people finished, designed something that stopped scrollers, or written a post that sparked comments, show us. If you haven’t yet but think you can, the assessment is where you prove it.

Ajaia is an AI company, and this role is where that shows in public. You’ll use AI daily to draft, storyboard, generate, edit, and iterate. You’ll be judged on what you keep, not how much you generate. We want work where AI made you three times faster and every judgment call was yours.

Responsibilities

  • Cut short-form video for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and X from long-form source material: recorded talks, webinars, podcast episodes, product demos, and client-facing sessions
  • Design graphics, carousels, and story frames for the Ajaia Instagram and our product accounts
  • Write platform-native captions and posts—one idea rendered correctly for each channel rather than one message reposted four times
  • Help build and hold the weekly content calendar, and keep it shipping
  • Build repeatable AI-assisted content workflows so the same output takes less time next month
  • Pull the numbers weekly, say what they mean, and bring one thing to change
  • Track formats, hooks, sounds, and trends, and bring the two worth trying
  • Keep the asset library organized so nobody hunts for a file

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program or recently graduated (any major, any year)
  • Working fluency with at least one video editing tool (CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut) and one design tool (Canva, Figma, Adobe)
  • Hands-on use of AI tools for content, and an opinion about where they help and where they don’t
  • Strong writing—you can hold a voice across formats and know the difference between a LinkedIn post and an Instagram caption
  • Taste, and the ability to say out loud why something works
  • Genuine interest in AI and what it’s doing to how people work
  • Available 10 to 25 hours per week, flexible around your class schedule
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • A portfolio or links to work you actually made, including personal projects: an account you grew, videos you cut, graphics you designed, a newsletter, a meme page that worked
  • Motion graphics or sound design
  • Podcast production workflow
  • Experience with B2B or enterprise audiences
  • Having grown a social account past a few thousand followers
  • Prior marketing or agency experience of any kind

Benefits

  • $20 to $40 per hour, paid hourly, based on experience
  • Flexible scheduling around your class schedule
  • Hybrid in New York at 450 Park Avenue South, or fully remote
  • Direct access to founders and a portfolio of published work under a real brand
  • Full AI tool stack provided
  • A path to a part-time or full-time seat for the right person
  • US holidays observed
