Social Content & Emerging Platforms Specialist

This is a remote role supporting Mattress Firm's organic social, community, and emerging platform strategy by creating and engaging on platform-native content.

About the role

The ideal candidate is a strong writer who understands how consumers ask questions, compare options, seek recommendations, and discover brands online. This role will develop content for emerging discovery channels, including Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging AI/search platforms, and can adapt tone and approach to match the unique expectations of each.

Responsibilities

• Write platform-native content for Reddit, social media, site, and emerging digital channels.
• Identify opportunities to participate in relevant conversations across Reddit and other community-driven platforms.
• Develop scripts, outlines, and educational content focused on sleep, mattresses, wellness, and home.
• Translate SEO, customer insights, and brand priorities into engaging content that consumers actually want to read, watch, and share, and that builds visibility in the search ecosystem.
• Test new content formats, channels, and storytelling approaches to reach consumers where discovery is evolving.
• Monitor consumer conversations to identify recurring questions, concerns, and content opportunities.
• Partner with SEO, Social, Community Management, and Content teams to develop content that addresses real customer needs.
• Surface emerging trends, topics, and insights that can inform future content strategies.
• Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
• Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.
• Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
• Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.
• Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and Company operations.
• Execute Company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Marketing, or related field; proportionate experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 2-4 years of experience in content marketing, social media, digital publishing, journalism, copywriting, or related fields.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with experience adapting tone and voice.
• Strong understanding of Reddit and other community forums.
• Experience using content performance data and audience insights to inform strategic and creative decisions.
• Experience writing SEO content and scripts.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Growth mindset, creative problem-solving, and adaptability to shifting priorities.

Skills

• Knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter) and their creative specifications: High

Pay

Competitive pay range of $60,000 - $68,000 depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
